The Chandelier Barn at Lionsgate Event Center Wedding Guide

Emberlight Media venue guide

A photography and video guide to the Chandelier Barn

The Chandelier Barn is Lionsgate Event Center’s most theatrical interior: a French-inspired room defined by chandeliers, shadow, warm points of light, and a distinctly different mood from the surrounding gardens. It can add an indoor ceremony, preparation, first-look, portrait, or after-party chapter to a Gatehouse or Dove House wedding. It is beautiful precisely because it is intimate—but that footprint demands a deliberate camera plan.

Quiet by design

A strong preparation and first-look space—if you plan for the footprint

The upstairs bridal room is full of character and makes a fun getting-ready setting, although it is compact enough that people and equipment need to be kept intentional. Because the Barn sits tucked away from the busier parts of the property, it can also be an excellent first-look location: private, calm, and close without feeling exposed.

Why this room is different

Chandeliers look cinematic when the exposure has somewhere to go

If a camera exposes only for faces, the fixtures can lose their detail. If it exposes only for the chandeliers, people can disappear into shadow. The installed lights can also produce visible flicker or banding on video, so we test the room and, in our experience here, often work at 60 frames per second with the shutter tuned to the fixtures. Careful exposure, white balance, stabilization, lens choice, and selective added light preserve the atmosphere without sacrificing people.

Keep the glowProtect the warm fixtures and the falloff that gives the room depth.
Light with purposeAdd flash or continuous light where it supports the people—not simply to make every frame equally bright.
Show scale and intimacyPair wide architectural views with reactions, movement, and smaller interactions.

Indoor ceremonies

Establish the room before guests are seated

Ceremony layouts can fill the room nearly wall to wall, with little or no clearance around the outside of the chair rows. We confirm the aisle, family positions, fixed camera locations, and any movement restrictions before guests are seated. Video coverage then uses complementary angles and dedicated audio without turning the intimate ceremony into a production.

Cocktail hour and after-party

Let the lighting change with the energy

Cocktail coverage emphasizes conversations, drinks, and design. An after-party calls for movement, contrast, and lighting that keeps guests present while the chandeliers remain part of the frame.

A five-to-ten-minute portrait window

Create images that cannot be mistaken for the garden

A brief controlled session can produce a wide symmetrical portrait, an edge-lit silhouette, soft chandelier bokeh, a slow movement frame, or a quiet cinematic film sequence. These photographs work best when the room is briefly clear and the visual goal is decided before the couple steps inside.

See the Barn in motion

Two films, two ways the space connects to the property

The venue showcase introduces the room itself. Melissa and Craig’s wedding film demonstrates a cross-property story that moves from a Gatehouse ceremony to portraits at the Chandelier Barn and Dove House before the sparkler exit.

Chandelier Barn planning questions

Quick answers for photo and film

Is the Chandelier Barn automatically included with every booking?

Do not assume it is. Lionsgate has described the Barn as an add-on to Gatehouse or Dove House weddings; confirm current availability, capacity, inclusions, and pricing directly with the venue for your date.

Can it be used as a rain plan?

It may support an indoor ceremony or weather contingency depending on the booking and current venue policies. Confirm the exact backup plan with the Lionsgate planning team.

Will flash ruin the atmosphere?

Not when it is used intentionally. We balance ambient light with discreet added light so faces remain clear while chandeliers, shadow, and warmth still define the room.

Can you record clean ceremony audio indoors?

Yes. We plan dedicated audio for the couple and officiant, plus backups where appropriate. Camera microphones remain useful for ambience but are not the only source for important words.
