What couples should know

Beautiful, distinctive—and intentionally sectioned off.

The Gatehouse and Dove House can host weddings at the same time, and Lionsgate takes each couple’s privacy seriously. That means the property is not a place where a photo or video team should assume it can wander between venues. We coordinate access and build the portrait route around the spaces included in your wedding.

The field west of the venue can be exceptional for sunset portraits when access, weather, and timing line up.
The Chandelier Barn is a beautiful option, but access should be confirmed with Lionsgate rather than assumed.
Marie and Tom have created details you will not find at another Colorado venue—from the red telephone booth and chickens to tucked-away garden features.
We have worked throughout Lionsgate for more than a decade and documented more than 500 weddings here, including a few portrait locations we deliberately save for our couples.

Find your space

Three venues. Three completely different visual stories.

Lionsgate is not a single ballroom with one obvious portrait location. The strongest galleries and films respond to the architecture, light, movement, and personality of the venue you actually chose.

The Gatehouse

Garden ceremonies, ivy, stained glass, warm woodwork, and a ballroom with enough scale for the full celebration.

The best proof is not a list of locations. It is a full gallery or film that shows how a team moves through the day, protects the timeline, and keeps the work visually varied.

Lily & Darian at the Gatehouse

Getting-ready rooms, a garden ceremony, ivy-covered portraits, stained glass, a warm reception, and a sparkler exit.

McKenzie & Christopher at the Dove House

Rain, warm interiors, wet garden paths, the red telephone booth, glowing string lights, and a vintage-car departure.

Selected Lionsgate wedding films

Movement, voices, vows, and the spaces after sunset.

A Lionsgate film should feel rooted in the property without becoming a venue tour. These films show how architecture, emotion, sound, and reception energy can work together.

Why venue experience matters

Familiarity should make the day easier—not the work repetitive.

Knowing the reliable locations creates speed and options. If weather shifts, the ceremony runs late, or a favorite corner is occupied, the team can adapt without turning the wedding into a production set.

Choose a first-look location that stays private and keeps the timeline moving.
Schedule portraits around softer garden light and realistic walking time.
Photograph bright windows and dark interiors without losing the people in the room.
Plan clean ceremony audio and camera positions that do not distract guests.
Use rain, string lights, chandeliers, and reception lighting intentionally.

Questions couples ask

Lionsgate Event Center FAQ

Is Lionsgate Event Center the same as “Lions Gate Event Center”?

The venue’s official name is Lionsgate Event Center, written as one word. Couples often search for “Lions Gate Event Center,” but both phrases generally refer to the same Lafayette, Colorado property.

Can one team provide both photography and video at Lionsgate?

Yes. A combined Emberlight team can plan photography and video together, reduce duplicated setup, and coordinate portrait, ceremony, and reception coverage.

Do you photograph the Gatehouse, Dove House, and Chandelier Barn?

Yes. Emberlight has worked throughout the Lionsgate property. Each venue has a different visual identity and needs a different lighting and logistics plan.

What happens if it rains?

Rain does not eliminate the visual possibilities. Covered and indoor areas protect the schedule, while wet brick, reflections, window light, and evening string lights can create photographs that do not exist on a clear day.
